Open Burning Permits
The State of Maine requires a fire permit for any open burning. The fire
permit is issued at the fire station on Island Avenue. Permits are valid
for the date of issue, however they may be extended with permission of the
fire chief. The daily weather broadcast from the State determines if permits
are issued or not. There is no charge for the fire permit issued at the
fire station.
