Police Department

Welcome to the Skowhegan Police Department Website. We are very pleased to provide you with access to information about the department and some insight into the services we provide. As the Chief of Police, I am very proud of the men and women of our department who have chosen to dedicate themselves to serving our community. Our goal is to provide the best possible law enforcement services by adhering to shared values that include Integrity, Accountability and Professionalism.

The Skowhegan Police Department responded to 5,058 calls for service for the 2005 calendar year with a staff of seven full-time patrol officers, two patrol sergeants, one detective and four part-time officers. These services are provided on a budget of $858,000.00. This is supplemented wherever possible through federal and state grant opportunities.

Law enforcement activities have been enhanced with several technological advances. Our Website is very typical of the impact technology has made on law enforcement and I hope you find it informative. I welcome you to further explore our web site and to contact the department should you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We are proud of our department and proud of Skowhegan.
