Still the largest event in Somerset County annually. Nearly every weekend in the summer the Skowhegan Fairgrounds hosts a horse show, or a dog show outside of fair week, obviously. Check the schedule online, but each weekend has a different competition or breed of horses. Also the dog agility show in late July is usually a favorite.

The Maine Grain Alliance, with support from King Arthur Flour, proudly presents the Kneading Conference and Artisan Bread Fair. Working to preserve and promote grain traditions from earth to hearth.

Skowhegan Haunted Hay Ride (Every October at the Fairgrounds) |
Frightening strikes twice in Skowhegan this Halloween as the Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering again with the Skowhegan Parks and Recreation to bring a howling good time to Skowhegan. Parks & Rec. turns Skowhegan Rec Ceter into a Haunted House, while only the bravest dare come up to the fairgrounds for the Haunted Hayrides for their two-night spectacular. Last year over 1,000 people took the hayrides, breaking the previous record, and it continues to grow annually.
|
Skowhegan Craft Brew Festival |
Come sample from the Maine Craft Brewers, also enjoy the many local food vendors featuring farm-to-table fare. Please also venture along Skowhegan's section of the Langlais Trail, combining all the festivities for an unforgettable end to summer. |
