Skowhegan Residents resources to sites for flooding information. The Town of Skowhegan is enrolled into the Community Rating System (CRS). This is a program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements set for by the National Flood Insurance Program. This program allows our CRS Coordinator to perform tasks associated with program activities and institute procedures that helps earn credits for activities in the mapped floodplain. These credits allows the Town to secure discounts on flood insurance. The Town of Skowhegan is currently at a Class 8. We are actively working towards a higher classification which may lead towards a higher discount on flood insurance. For more information, feel free to contact our office.
